HAZRAT OMAR (R) MODEL ACADEMY (HOMA)




A Brief Profile:



Hazrat Omar (R) Model Academy (HOMA) is established and founded by Assam Falah Society a premier Socio Welfare Voluntary Organization of North East India, in the year 1991. The Academy is one of the several welfare projects of the Society in the region. It is an output of relentless and untiring efforts of a few dedicated social workers with an ambitious vision to boost and uplift the young pupils of the region in particular and the country at large. The institution, besides providing quality education to its students also aims at nurturing the young minds in an atmosphere of spiritual serenity and moral chastity. However, the school is open to pupils of all religion, caste, creed, gender or language. In short ‘HOMA’ is committed to inculcation of a value based Islamic and / or Spiritual, but modern way of life into its students.



Spread in an area of around 32 Bighas of land and located well away from the din and bustle of the town the school is situated at a picturesque and serene location around 1.2 km. west from Howly, in Barpeta district of Assam.

There are separate Hostel Campuses for boys and girls with entirely separate units like kitchen, sanitary, dinning halls and prayer facilities. Both the hostels and managed by separate staff like wardens tutors, mother teachers (for small kids) and Hostel supers.



Presently the school has 42 members in the teaching faculty and around 70 non teaching staff. There are adequate personnel for miscellaneous works like cleaning, ironing, shoe polishing, hair cutting, cooking, security etc. The Academy with a student strength of 750 (2009) is in its 19th year of inception. As a cynosure to its identity there had been seven batches of hundred percent successful students that passed out matriculation from the school so far.
